Mushroom Girl - Scarlet Elf Cap

Originally created for the free art day “Mushroom Drop”, the series has expanded to include many of the mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. I choose mushrooms that conjure up a certain personality or attitude and then I create a girl that can portray it. Scarlet Elf Caps appear in late winter/very early spring and are a burst of bright red color against the wintry browns and grays of the forest floor. They form a cup shape that would be just right for an elf's head.
