Mushroom Girl - Oyster
Colored pencil illustration prints decoupaged onto upcycled wooden blocks. 3" x 4"
Originally created for the free art day “Mushroom Drop”, the series has expanded to include many of the mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. I choose mushrooms that conjure up a certain personality or attitude and then I create a girl that can portray it. Oyster mushrooms are very flavorful and give off a distinct anise aroma. They are also very prominent in the PNW forests. The beauty, though, is in the gills underneath the cap, as they fan out in layers as the mushrooms grow in groups.
