Papa Dick was born on Election Day, Nov. 2nd, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wi. His family migrated to the Wild West in a 1941 Plymouth with all of their belongings in a small tarp covered utility trailer. They settled in Schneiders Prairie north of Olympia in 1947.
Papa Dick had an unprecedented memory which may explain how he painted by never looking at anything.
He painted 1,000's of paintings, trying to catch up to Grandma Moses who he admired very much.
