Papa Dick
Papa Dick was born on Election Day, Nov. 2nd, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wi. His family migrated to the Wild West in a 1941 Plymouth with all of their belongings in a small tarp covered utility trailer. They settled in Schneiders Prairie north of Olympia in 1947.
Papa Dick had an unprecedented memory which may explain how he paints by never looking at anything.
Papa Dick passed Aug 8th surrounded by family in his home. Earlier in 2021, Papa Dick received the diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. He is survived by wife Peggy and children Troy & Diane.
For the past few decades, he’s painted a painting a day in his little art hut along the Deschutes River. He’s sold 1000’s of paintings that hang across Washington State and the country.
